"Laugh in the face of adversity!" I don't know who said it, but I'm sure someone some time in history was the first to coin the phrase. When I look back on all the trials and mountains I've faced, I wish I would have taken a different approach. We as humans tend to take things way too serious. Its the way we are wired. We are problem solvers. Some better than others. We always think we have to fix everything right away.
The Word of God says in Psalm 23:5, "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows."
This has been the verse on my heart for the past month. I just envision David being surrounded by his enemies and he so patiently sits at a table that the Lord has prepared to partake in a feast. Not only is God saying to rest and to not fear in the presence of our adversaries, but to also REJOICE!! Have a celebration and let your enemies witness you worshipping our Lord and Savior. When persecution comes, we are to rejoice. Matthew 5:12 "Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you."
Something else I've noticed...When we have direction, those little things in life that used to annoy us doesn't seem so bothersome any more. The obstacles that do stand in the way seems more like a speed bump rather than a brick wall. So if you have direction or if you don't, live a life that is full of thanksgiving and worship. Worship is not a slow song or a part of the Sunday morning service, its a lifestyle. Worship is a reflection of our everyday, routine life reflecting the glory of God.
