Recently I was reading in the Gospel of John. A verse that I have read many times leaped out at me. The passage was out of John 3:34, "For the one whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God gives the spirit without limit."
John was giving a testimony as he was baptizing to Jesus as the Son of God. Because those who were following John were asking who is this man who is also baptizing. The words that jumped out to me were, "God gives the spirit without limit." I couldn't continue reading. I read that verse over and over. Probably 20 times. This is such an amazing revelation BECAUSE God said, "It is not by force nor strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven's Armies." (Zechariah 4:6) We have an unlimited supply of the arsenal needed to win every battle. Not to mention the Book that I am quoting from.
So many times, when we are attacked we get caught up in the lie of the enemy. Hundreds and thousands of thoughts race through our mind and what do we do...we entertain them. A good way to look at these lies and untruthful thoughts is to see them as unwanted guests in your home. If you have an unwanted guest, you wouldn't entertain them. You wouldn't say come and have a seat. Would you like some coffee? No, you would show them the door. The longer we entertain them, the longer they stay and mess up our home.
In other news, I have only about 18 days left in LA. Can't wait to hit the road going east, just to go west again.
