The Transition

Wow!! I can't believe I'm writing this.  After an incredible 3 1/2 journey in Los Angeles, God has called me to go to Kona, Hawaii to attend YWAM..(Youth With A Mission) for those of you not familiar.  This year has been quite difficult.  Lots of curveballs and changes.
I guess things really started to shift in September of 2010.  I was at our young adults relationship retreat in Catalina Island.  The first night we had service, Kenny Peavy was leading service and instructed us to move all the chairs to the side and lay flat on our faces.  As soon as I did this, I started to weep.  In all my years in church services, revivals and conferences; I had never experienced the presence of God so strongly.  It was life changing to say the least.  Immediately God spoke to me and told me that I had to lay down my current relationship with my girlfriend.  After weeping for another 15 minutes and 3 puddles of snot and tears, I asked why?  He replied, in order for your destiny to be fulfilled, you have to lay this down.  When I returned from the retreat, I had no choice but to be obedient.  I didn't see fruit from that immediately.  And honestly, it was very frustrating.
Fast forward to June, 2011...I had just finished the school year working at a high school in Pasadena.   When I left the last day of school, I knew in my spirit that I would not be returning the next year.  Two weeks later, I went to India for two weeks on a short-term mission trip, where God increased the healing anointing in my life.  Right before I went on that trip, I was sharing my heart at the young adults service at HRock church.  I was sharing about my passion of the entertainment industry and how I was contending for breakthrough.  After service, a young man came up to me and explained that he was a recruiter for Warner Bros.  He felt God compelling him to help me get a job at Warner Bros.  I thought this was it!  We exchanged information and a week later, I was off to India.  Upon my return to Los Angeles, I was eagerly awaiting a phone call from him about an opportunity at WB.  That phone call never came.  Again, very frustrating.  But I continued to press into God and seek His face.  Shortly after that, God called me to a place of rest for two months.  We all get caught up in this world and our daily routines, that sometimes God wants us to rest so we can hear His voice more clearly.  All my life, I've been a Martha, God wanted me to be a Mary for once.
And that leads us to the next phase.  Hawaii, nor YWAM was on my radar two weeks ago.  But God has opened the door for me to go into the nations.  One of the most exciting parts of this new endeavor is that YWAM has a film program on the Kona base, so I will be looking to dive head first into that.  I can't say how excited I am to close one book and start another one.
Stay tuned for more updates.
