Man, am I ever a sinner! But Praise Him....I am free!!. It was freedom week here at YWAM. To say the least, I felt like my pride was being chipped away with hammer and chisel. And then after one layer of pride was broken, another one appeared and it was shattered by a sledgehammer. When Brian Brent brought out jokes about Princess Leia's cinnamon bun hairdo and the middle seat on the airplane, I didn't know whether to die laughing or disappear in my seat. I've never seen someone have the ability to make me feel super convicted while laughing til I cried.
I'm still processing everything from this past week, but one of the most important things I've learned is to praise Him in everything. When its hot outside, praise Him. When the food isn't good, praise Him. When your roommate ate your food, praise Him. When you get that middle seat on a 12 hour flight, praise Him. Something Brian said that has not escaped my heart was, "You will find the specific will of God while doing the general will of God." What is the general will of God? I Thessalonians 5:16-17, "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." I love this scripture and the simplicity it brings to things.
Team Amsterdam leaves one month from today. Please be praying for us as we strategize for this two month outreach. We are going into a very dark place, so we really need your prayers. If you would like to sow into my outreach to Amsterdam, this is how you can do so.
